Aside the total disruption of social and economic activities in Imo state that made Owerri, the state capital a ghost city yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari’s one day working visit to Imo yesterday, also had a comic relief, as the Special Adviser (Political) to the Governor, Dr Batos Nwadike flew off the handle at the government house, Owerri while raking and shouting at those he referred to as strangers who want to hijacked Governor Uzodinma’s administration.
According to information that was substantiated with video clips that have gone viral, Dr Nwadike on arrival at the airport to receive the President alongside other government officials was said to have been embittered when he saw some people he felt should not be there because of their political leanings and affiliations or probably because of their support for other candidates at the peak of the 2019 governorship election in the state started lamenting that strangers have taken over his Principal, Governor Uzodinma’s administration.
“I don’t know most of these people here, where they came from or what they are doing here. Who invited them, what are they doing here and what is their mission?.
He was also said to have expressed dismay that, “some people who worked at cross purposed with them at the heat of the battle have now come to reap where they didn’t sow.”
In his reaction to the said unsavoury remark, Nwadike through his special adviser on Media,Chukwuemeka Raymond described the said video as doctored but acknowledged that there was altercation at the government house between him and some person said to be loyal to the former governor Rochas Okorocha.
Explaining what transpired , Nwadike said, “truth of the matter is that the said incident happened at Imo Government house after a return from President Muhammadu Buhari successful commissioning of massive project done by His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma.
“On Arrival to Government house, Chief Batos had a heated argument with a supporter of Rochas Okorocha who claimed that Rochas Government brought APC to south East and Gov Uzodimma is reaping from the benefits of Okorocha’s government, Chief Batos Nwadike on his defence to the 3R government asked the man “what sort of bad Government is that, stupid Okorocha Government ” and went on to refute the man’s claim in the presence of everybody and even order security agency to push the man out of Government “.
