Following the request by the Joint Campus Committee (JCC), of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), to meet with the Provost of Imo State College of Nursing Science and Midwifery, Mrs Hanna Offor who is said to run open door policy,the student body on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 visited the school and had an interactive session with management and staff on how to ensure that the school does not only maintain high standard of professionalism but remains on the path of growth.
The NANS delegation, led by Comrade Nnurumelee Joy Gerald was received on arrival by the Dean of Students Affairs, Mrs Njoku Immaculata, Sub Dean, Students’ Affairs Mrs Nnabuife Emenalo Ngozi, alongside the Provost of the school, Mrs Hanna Offor, stressed the importance of a vibrant Students Union Government (SUG), which they said is a bridge between the students and management to ensure smooth and effective running of the institution.
The delegation commanded the management for its effort to reposition the school and bring about rapid development and academic excellence and urge the Provost to look into some complaints raised by the students.
The Provost, Mrs Offor while responding responding to issues raised by the student leaders expressed delight at the visit of members of J.C.C and thanked them for their concern, input and useful suggestions that will further enhance the existing peace, harmony and cordial relationship between the students and management.
She promised to sustain her open door policy, constantly brief and work in synergy with all relevant segments and stakeholders including the J.C.C, the security agencies, leadership of the host community, etc, to ensure that a conducive teaching and learning environment is sustained.
The Provost also used the opportunity to commend and eulogize the governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma giant development strides towards transforming and repositioning the state in addition to his fatherly concern, and unprecedented support for the school in all ramifications.
“She further said, though, we have challenges, we are confident that, considering the pace at which the governor is moving in his developmental strides, in no distant time, they will all be addressed by the state government”.
Mrs Offor also admonished the students to be focused, disciplined, dedicated to their studies.
