–Insists no vacancy in douglas house 2023
The Senior Special Assistant to the Imo state governor, senator Hope Uzodinma on Road Rehabilitation and Monitoring, Hon Chimezie Nweke has taken a swipe at the member representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala federal constituency in the national assembly, Hon Bede Eke who he said has resorted to peddling falsehood to deceive the people because he is jittery and scared about the enormous achievements recorded so far by the governor.
Hon Nweke who stated this in a release he issued yesterday in response to Hon Eke’s submission in a recent interview that Senator Hope Uzodinma and his party, the All Progressive Congress lack what it takes to govern Imo aright, said “it is obvious that with Governor Uzodinma’s record breaking performance and achievements across the state, Bede Eke knows that there will be no vacant seat in Douglas House in 2023/2024, hence he has already started weeping and lamenting. He should however be told that Governor Uzodinma is presently concerned about how to dispense the dividends of democracy to Imo people and not about the next election”.
He also regretted that federal lawmaker lied that he economy of the state became comatose the moment the Uzodinma administration came on board.
Hon Nweke further stated that, contrary to Hon Bede Eke’s claims that the various local government councils are presently dormant, “the local government areas in the state are beehives of activities under the supervision of the Interim Management Chairmen who have brought governance to grassroots, in line with their specific needs as articulated and presented to the governor during their solidarity and NEEDS presentation Visits.
He wondered why the federal legislator who has neither condemned nor shown any concern about the disturbing rate of insecurity in Imo is more concerned about the next election instead of showing empathy and thinking of how to restore the state to normalcy in the interest of the people who are presently not finding it easy.
Nweke advised Hon Eke to concentrate on how to make his constituents feel the impact of the votes he claims they cast for him, and desist from engaging in frivolities.
