The President General of Emeabiam Community, Chief Ndubuisi Iheakam Akata yesterday while speaking with Newsmen in Owerri, debunked the insinuations that there is tension in his community.
The President general said,”The attention of the people of Emebiam Community has been drawn to a malicious news story published in Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, dated January 20 ,2021 with the caption,”lmo Rubber Estate;Tension in EMEABIAM as Police Arrest Protesting Youths”.The report is no doubt aimed at pitching the the community against Government.”
He emphasised that there is no tension in the community as being peddled by those he referred to as enemies of Emeabiam and the government of lmo State.
According to Iheakam Akata who doubles as President General of all President Generals in Owerri West LGA,the community is working in synergy with governor Uzodinma led administration that is barely one year.
In his words,”We are optimistic that the 3R government of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma will develop our aear more than the previous administration.After all the government is a new Administration that is barely one year now”.
He revealed that there is understanding and plans on ground for the good of the Community, stating that Stakeholders of the Community ,management of lmo Rubber Estates Limited and the Commissioner of Agriculture have held meetings chart a way forward for the people.
He sounded note of warning to mischief makers who would want make trouble with government or it’s agents even with cordial arrangement the community has with government,such persons are on their own.
Okata maintained that Emeabiam is a peaceful community,those fanning the embers of war are some of their daughters who wanted to Lord it over the government by blackmailing the new administration to get board membership.
He also said that the hoodlums who were arrested by the police were sent to hijack lumps without appropriate approval”we do not know who sent them,our community is not in support of their act.
The PG promised that the community will not relent in bringing those who sent these hoodlums to book as soon as they are unmasked.
Finally, he called on the General Public to disregard the rumour trending on the social media and the traditional media concerning unrest in Emeabiam ,that it is the work of some disgruntled elements .
