v Says: Governor Uzodinma has surpassed his imagination
The Chief of Staff to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Chief Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie has accused the opposition political parties of misleading Imo electorate just to score cheap political goals.
Anyaehie stated this yesterday in his office, at government House, Owerri.
He said that contrary to speculations in several quarters that the present government of Senator Hope Uzodinma is not paying pension. “No pensioner that has submitted relevant particulars that has not been paid”. He noted also that some of the pensioners either made mistakes in documentation or have disparities in their records of service which they have been asked to correct.
Anyaehie challenged his guests to bring to his knowledge of any pensioner who claims that he is being owned to avail him records of such pensioners with assurance that he will address their problems and expose the lies of the opposition. While the meeting was on, some of the media practitioners called their relatives to send their Personal identification numbers which they did. Thereafter, the Chief of Staff called the department in charge of pension for prompt confirmation.
It was gathered that for everyone who brought details of such pensioners had their problem solved, confirming that the fault could be majorly on the pensioners who for old age may not have heeded or complied with the instructions,strictly.
Speaking further, Anyaehie said that having known governor Hope Uzodinma long before his emergence as the Executive Governor of Imo State, he can attest to the fact that the governor means well for Imo people, stressing that he has surpassed his expectations within the short period he emerged and served as governor.
He called on Imo people to ignore misleading reports by opposition leaders which he said is targeted at deceiving the unsuspecting electorate.”Senator Hope Uzodinma has done well. He has laid a solid foundation for Imo State so much that it would no longer be difficult for successive governors to face pension issues. He regretted how some civil servants were found to be deeply enmeshed in pension fraud, through falsification of records, in order to avoid retirement and for other pecuniary interests.
