The Rochas foundation, worldwide, the umbrella body of the Rochas Foundation College of Africa and other affiliates, has rolled out its programme for 2019, aimed at positively touching lives, providing shelter, medicare, quality education, ensuring peace and harmony in homes and generally enhancing the welfare of the people.
The Director General of the foundation Mrs Uloma Nwosu, who is also governor Okorocha’s first daughter and wife of the Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, Mr. Uche Nwosu, gave this hint while addressing journalist in Owerri last Wednesday.
She said Rochas Foundation College was established over 18 years ago, presently has about 12 branches in the country and over fifteen thousand students while about four thousand students have passed out of the various branches of the college.
“There will be a programme in February this year, with the theme, “this is love”. It is designed to show-case the activities of the foundation which is love in action. “After that, there will be a South-East/South West conference, aimed at sensitizing the people on the need to reach out and impact on the society”.
According to her, there are also plans to launch the “Reach magazine” which will be chronicling the foundation’s activities and also serve as its official mouth piece, aside other functions. She said the foundation will also embark on serious campaign for free education in Nigeria. It should be free and compulsory, it does not have to be a Rochas foundation thing. There are over four thousand products of this college doing very well at home and in the diaspora, who will be encouraged to give back to the society. There will also be a women’s summit this year, to educate them on how to support themselves and their families, no matter the circumstance they find themselves”.
She called for the assistance and partnership of the press in articulating and highlighting the vision and activities of the foundation. “My team I cannot do it alone. The press has a fundamental role to play and we solicit their support”.
