An Njaba community leader, Chief Chika Ugochukwu has called on Imo people especially, the youths to endeavour to register and obtain the INEC voters cards before the 2019 general election.
Chief Ugochukwu who made the statement while speaking to the news men during the New Year celebration at his Egwundu Atta Community in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, said the voters card is the only avenue to change system of governance known to decent climes. According to him, the success of any election lies on the power of the voters card. He therefore explained that he will personality assist his ward members to ensure that they got the voters card so as to make their voice heard through the ballot, in 2019.
Chief Ugochukwu also used the medium to advise Imo youths on the need to imbibe the habits of self confidence, tolerance and patience and not to indulge in any illegal and criminal activities as well as never involve in any issues that would endanger their lives mostly on the prevalent quick money syndrome.
Chief Chika Ugochukwu however promised that he would use all his wealth of experience and resources to assist any government in power to ensure that his home community, benefits from the dividends or democracy.
He applauded Governor Rochas Okorocha for the “urban renewal project” embarked upon by the governor in Owerri and advised him to make it an all Imo State communities affairs by ensuring that each of the 27 LGAs benefited from such laudable developmental and infrastructural transformation.
Chief Ugochukwu who had in his earlier address, stated that should if somebody like him successes in life, nobody should lose hope of success. According to him, he lost his father as an under-aged child, which development he said did not deter him from moving forward by first of all helping his mother to control their late father’s business before he sojourned abroad in the quest for greener pastures.
Chief Ugochukwu also stated that having suffered so much as a fatherless young man, he has now decided to ensure that widows and children of the less privileged do not suffer some incapacitation and depravity which he said, is quite hard for him to begin to mention to the public what he has done. The Egwudu Atta born philanthropist Chief Ugochukwu, said he can only advise all the well to do individuals in the state and beyond to come to the rescue or the down trodden as wealth comes from God, for use to help or alleviate the sufferings of the vulnerable and incapacitated ones in the society.
