The Orlu zonal chapter of Imo Youth Mandate Forum, (IYMF) last Tuesday, held a meeting over the state of affairs in Orlu zone, where they x-rayed the performance of their various representatives in the national assembly.

The Orlu zonal Chairman of the forum, Hon Finbar Mbanaso said, though, it is not yet time to comprehensively assess the performance of the federal legislators, “the truth is that, no matter how well they have performed, it is morally wrong for any of them to nurse the ambition of going for a third term, pointing out that, most of them angling for third term now, “were at the fore-front of the resistance against Senator Arthur Nzeribe’s third and fourth term bid, when he almost personalized the Orlu Senate seat”.

He urged them to aim other positions because two consecutive terms of eight years are enough for anybody to achieve his objectives for the people. He also stated that his group frowns at the clandestine moves of the sit tight representatives stressing that since the positions are rotational, justice and equity demand that the most one should spend are two terms of eight years, to enable the next LGA have its turn.

In a release signed by Hon Finbar Mbanaso and Chinedu Ihejirika, Orlu zonal chairman and secretary respectively, the group advised the incumbent legislators to concentrate more on how to use the remaining periods of their respective tenures to deliver dividends of democracy to the people. “They should try and leave the stage when ovation is loudest”.

The group said, it will soon embark on the sensitization of Orlu electorate on the need for good, quality and effective representation, to move the zone forward.
