The Orlu Elder’s Council, a formidable group of elites, professionals, academics, technocrats, businessmen and seasoned politicians is poised to liberate Orlu zone and entire Imolites from the bondage of poverty, hardship, pain and agony, occasioned by bad governance.

A front line politician, seasoned administrator and technocrat, Chief Ejike Uche (Dimkpasaa), said this recently while addressing journalists at the VIP lounge of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, on his way to Abuja. He averred that Orlu zone, with twelve local government areas is a beautiful bride and major stakeholder that should be taken seriously, in the political equation of Imo State. “We also believe in fairness, justice and equity”.

Responding to a question, the political gladiator and Deputy National Chairman of United Progressive Party (UPP) said the  elders council which is non political and non religious, comprises eminent and distinguished personalities like Prof. Francis Dike (SAN), former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Imo State, Prof. Chuka Okonkwo, former Vice Chancellor, Imo State University, Dr. Eson Obodo, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, former secretary to the Imo State government, Prof Protus Nathan Uzoma, HRH, Eze John Nwosu, a former federal resident electoral commissioner, Engr. Chime Nzeribe and himself, among others, will not only ensure that Orlu zone, henceforth presents their first eleven but ensure that the political future of Imo State is neither gambled nor toyed with, by mediocres, who have nothing good to offer.

The political gladiator, whose penchant for honesty, transparency, due process and the rule of law is well known, said, “it will no longer be business as usual, because people’s pedigree, antecedents and track record will henceforth be properly screened in all cases and on virtually all issues, to avoid the mistakes of the past”.

He also used the opportunity to wish Imo people a merry Christmas and prosperous new year in advance, urging them to be courageous and resolute, despite all odds, “because there will definitely be light at the end of tunnel”.
