A two time former lawmaker for Nkwerre Local Government area at the Imo state House of Assembly and the Special Adviser to governor Hope Uzodinma on Public Safety, Rt.Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe has accused the People Democratic Party, PDP of plotting to frustrate investors from coming into Imo State.
Nzekwe who spoke to our reporter on phone yesterday said that the opposition PDP and other elements,he described as enemies of Imo State know that they are on a mission impossible by institituting a suit through one Barr Kingdom Okere of RAP party but still want to distract the Imo people and vent their frustrations which are aimed at discouraging investors froming coming to Imo.Secondly, “they believe that by so doing, they will prevent their members most of whom are already in touch with our great party from joining All Progressive Party, APC”.
He said, the idea is to create impression that their is seemingly instability in the state that may occasion change of government.This he said is one of the easiest ways to discourage prospective investors as nobody will want to risk his investment”.On the side of the members,”they want to continously give them false hope to keep them in the party”,Nzekwe hinted.
According to the Nkwerre born Prince, such politics is not for the interest of Imo people and obviously an act of wickedness by the opposition party.He said that the achievement of Senator Hope Uzodinma within this short period has left them dumbfounded so much that they now write and peddle falsehood on daily basis to discredit a government that has done so well for the people.
He vowed that no amount of distraction will stop Uzodinma from delivering on his campaign promises to Imo people while advising the PDP and their partners to allow peace a chance for the interest of the poor masses who will suffer as a result of their actions.
It would be recalled that the candidate of Reform and Advancement party(RAP),Barr Kingdom Okere recently went back to Abuja Federal High court to seek interpretation of the double candidature of AA candidate, Uche Nwosu and senator Hope Uzodinma who ultimately became the candidate of APC after Uche Nwosu was disqualified on the basis of double nomination.
The case which came up yesterday was later adjoined to September 29,2020.At the time of filing this report, it was not clear whether the Imo state PDP has finally joined in the suit seeking to remove Senator Hope Uzodinma as governor of Imo state or not.
