One of Governor Okorocha’s new commissioners who was also a former commissioner has been dragged to an Orlu Customary Court by his mother for denying her and his siblings inheritance of their late father’s property.

In the Suit No CC/14/2017, which came up last Monday 4th December 2017, the commissioner’s mother and four siblings, as plaintiffs are seeking the order of the honourable court, that they are also entitled to inherit their late father’s estate, presently held exclusively by the former commissioner, who has also been reappointed.

They are also asking the court to order the defendant to restore the mother’s 3-room kitchen line which he unilaterally demolished, rendering the woman homeless and having nowhere to cook. They are also praying the court to order the former commissioner to restore the house where one of his siblings, the second plaintiff lives with his family of seven members.

In a statement of claims, dated 23rd March 2017, and signed by their counsel, an Orlu based lawyer, the commissioner’s mother and four siblings are seeking an order of court that the entire estate of their late patriarch be shared and partitioned amongst his successors/hers in accordance with the native law and custom of their community, in Orlu LGA of Imo State, in addition to the payment of one million naira to them, as general damages, by the embattled and negatively controversial commissioner.

Most people who spoke to our reporter, on condition of anonymity condemned the commissioner’s attitude, wondering why he should exhibit such hostility and wickedness to his biological mother and siblings.

In her reaction, the mother described her son as biblical prodigal son who choose to forget the pains of child bearing.
