History was made yesterday June 18, 2020, when the Traditional ruler of Nneato Obibi-Ochasi in Orlu LGA, HRH Eze Samson Okwudinma Mbakwe (KSM) Igwe Ohazurume 1 of Nneato Obibi-Ochasi emerged as the Chairman of Orlu Council of Traditional Institution. He was sworn in alongside his counterparts from other twenty six Local Government Areas in the State.
Performing the swearing in programme, the Chairman of Imo State Traditional Institution Community Policing, HRM Eze Dr. E.C. Okeke at it’s Council headquarters in Mbari disclosed that traditional rulers will henceforth take charge of security in their various autonomous communities and as well other traditional institutions as against the former practice of Community Government Council (CGC) put in place by the former Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha which almost destroyed the traditional institution in the State.
Speaking shortly after he was inuagurated, Eze Okwudinma Mbakwe thanked the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for choosing him to serve Orlu Council of Traditional Institution as it’s Chairman at a time like this, stressing that his emergence is one he will never take for granted.
He opined that much is expected from every leadership position given to anyone at any level, maintaining that he will put his best to ensure that traditional institution in Orlu LGA and in Imo State at large reclaims it’s lost glory for which it was well known.
The Chairman of Orlu Council of traditional institution who also doubles as the CEO and Managing Director of Highest Investment Ltd,Owerri assured fellow traditional rulers in Orlu LGA not to disappoint them all through his tenure in office and that the general interest of all traditional rulers in Orlu will remains his priority in order to carry everyone along and give them sense of belonging.
The foremost traditional ruler also used the occasion to express his satisfaction with the present administration in the State under the able leadership of Senator Hope Uzodinma who he said has continued to turn things around since he came on board as the democratically elected Governor of the State.
The Igwe Ohazurume 1 of Nneato Obibi-Ochasi hinted that the state and it’s citizens are now experiencing good governance at all levels following the developmental strides of the Governor in the State.
