A few months ago, the visionary governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, outlined some of the qualities, “his would be successor should posses, for him to support. They included, according to him, not being above fifty (50) years of age before assuming office, possessing the political will to take tough decisions so long as they are in the interest of Imo people, as well as not one, who over the years has made quite a number of political enemies.
An unbiased over view of the above stated expectations clearly shows that one man who completely fits holistically into it is Chief Collins Osuagwu C. an astonishing business Mogul, philanthropist and funder/Chairman, Chief Collins Osuagwu foundation – a non-profit, Non Governmental Organization.
On age, this youth, who is far below the Governor, “Rochas Okorocha’s” age limit of fifty (50) years, is a workaholic whose speed is unmatchable, little wonder he is based in Germany and Switzerland. He has businesses in many countries, and indeed, he has done very well for himself and has continued to strive. It is such people, as Chief Osuagwu, who have the strength and dexterity to move the state forward, that should be allowed to occupy Government House Owerri, come May 2019, if the achievements recorded by Governor Okorocha are anything to go by or to be consolidated. In a nutshell, on the issue of age, he is more than qualified, considering the fact, that most of the known aspirants to the plum position, are not within this age bracket.
Again, Chief Osuagwu on the issues of carrying baggages of enmity can be said not to have any political enemy, having just joined politics. In a recent interview, he had with Imo journalists; he said his foray into politics was as a result of his desire to positively impact on the lives of Imo people.
Hear him; “I have the experience and wherewithal to reposition and represent the interest of Imo people. I will review the abandoned but visible projects situated in the three senatorial districts of the state, if elected in 2019. I will invite my foreign partners to invest in the state for the creation of employment and wealth of experience garnered over the years in Europe-more than two decades will come to bear.
Maintaining that the state has both abundant human and natural resources that could be harnessed by a visionary leader, Chief Osuagwu, said he will revolutionalize agriculture, improve the health facilities and uplift the standard of education.
When it comes, to having the political will to function effectively as governor, it can in all modesty be stated that this Umuamagwu, Umuduru Aro, Umuebi, Ugiri, Isiala Mbano – Born youthful gubernatorial aspirant, has it in great quantum.
According to people very close to him, he takes serious business decisions that have seen his business grow across the globe, stressing that having lived in Europe for more than Twenty years, and having seen government function in organized societies, he has what it takes to take decisions that will move the state forward.
Beside the above stated qualities, Chief Osuagwu has a milk of kindness running in his veins as could be attested to by his philanthropic dispositions. He has through his foundation put smiles on the faces of the indigent, as well as saved lives of the down trodden, who could not afford to pay their medical bills. A number of youths and women have equally benefitted immensely from his empowerment projects while orphanages are not left out.
It would therefore be in the overall interest of Imo people to elect Chief Collins Osuagwu as Executive Governor to occupy government house in 2019.
