– Accuses opposition, rivals, of engaging in fetish oath administration
Like a drowning man that is left with no option than to grab tightly or clutch unto even a tissue paper in order to stay afloat, to when he knows that the end is near, Governor Rochas Okorocha has continuously blamed the major opposition political parties in Imo state and his formidable rivals in APC for his self inflicted woes.
Now faced with the stark reality that the spirit of God seems to have left him, especially in his desperate bid to succeed himself as Governor through his son-inlaw and Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has resorted to name calling to draw attention and win cheap sympathy. Hon. Uche Onyeagocha had accused him of plotting for a third term through the back door when it is viewed that Rochas Okorocha has in the recent past received knocks and condemnations from across Nigeria for serial indiscretion.
The situation is like the kettle which goes on fire, more frequently, calling the pot, black. Notwithstanding the hard facts as recently exposed by Femi Fani Kayode (FFK) in a recent publication that Okorocha had previously engaged in similar diabolic acts, the Governor who has been in the eye of the storm lately, for allegedly squandering as much as N530 million to erect a statue for the alleged fraudulent South African President, Jacob Zuma, is now pointing accusing fingers on his perceived political opponents and rivals accusing them of engaging in fetish oath administration.
In a recent press release by his controversial Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, was quoted as warning Imo political gladiators and officials of Imo APC including some of his recently sacked political appointees, against subscribing or succumbing to oath taking which he said are being administered “by some of the rival governorship aspirants. In the words of Sam Onwuemeodo, “some governorship aspirants have continued to administer fetish oaths on APC stalwarts ahead of 2019 governorship election in Imo state”. This he added is dubious, diabolic and satanic.
Not done with such frivolity and hate speech, Onwuemeodo in an attempt to give the dog a bad name to hang it, or more clues to his suspects described the king pin administrator as a serial loser, not minding that Senator Ifeanyi Araraume whom he had in mind has never lost any election. Araraume was rather a victim of conspiracy in 2007 just like the one that brought his principal Rochas Okorocha to power in 2011. Then President Jonathan, late Ikemba Ojukwu, Chief Raph Uwazuruike and Arch Bishop Anthony Obinna, as well as Rev .Fr. Ejike Mbaka, had separately conspired to enthrone someone who never had a manifesto, as governor. In 2011, the election was inconclusive and cancelled at some stages, to tilt victory in favour of Owelle Rochas Okorocha who had enjoyed the tacit endorsement of Goodluck Jonathan and Bishop Anthony Obinna of the Catholic Church.
In 2015, it took Sam Onwuemeodo’s perceived serial loser to ensure victory for his idol, Rochas Okorocha who is believed could not have won without Araraume’s support. Talking about oath taking, some keen political observers and pundits have already picked holes in Okorocha’s endless lamentations insisting that “oath taking has never been a crime but a culture”. They queried Sam Onwuemeodo, a self acclaimed religious bigot for subjecting or submitting himself to “oath of office and oath of allegiance before Okorocha, only to now realize that oath taking is fetish and satanic”.
Furthermore, they want Okorocha to explain why he administers oath on his appointees if he now finds it reprehensible and an abomination. Such outbursts from Okorochas Chief Press Secretary Onwuemeodo, according to pundits is nothing but shedding of crocodile tears for a man who has done everything to abuse the massive support and goodwill he enjoyed from Imolites prior to his victory and inauguration in 2011, as executive Governor by popular mandate.
It was against this backdrop that they advised Okorocha to desist from impoverishing Imolites, whose properties, houses and markets he willfully and forcefully acquired or demolished in a bid to be the only wealthy man in the entire South East region. They added that Okorocha and Onwuemeodo cannot now point accusing fingers “at oath taking or administration” as if they are innocent of such fetish or diabolical acts such as were recently condemned by Femi Fani Kayode and Reuben Abati, both former aides of Goodluck Jonathan who were also very close to Okorocha, and should know him better.
Meanwhile some of the perceived opponents and political rivals of Okorocha who reacted to Sam Onwuemeodo’s misleading outcry accused him of hallucination and weeping like the crocodile just to distract the attention of Imolites from his gross misconducts and maladministration, which have culminated in distress and total disaster with no single motorable road, public water supply or employment opportunities in the state, except for his siblings and inlaws.
