Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has commenced issuance of appointment letters to his aides.
According to a Government House source who made a copy of her appointment letter public, the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has begun to give out appointment letters to his aides.
It was not clear if the Governor’s decision to issue appointment letters to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon (Mrs) Oyibo Nwaneri and others whose letters were dated on the 8th of May, 2020, and signed by Chief Cosmas Iwu, Secretary to the Government of Imo State, was as a result of how sensitive those positions are to his administration.
The development has however met with mixed reactions as the other appointees are worried if there is any plan to drop them after they have been sworn-in and operated since March 2020.
Another source in Government House Owerri revealed that out of the 89 appointees, not up to 10 of them have gotten appointment letters and the source said already is being rumored that they have to forfeit their three months salary. What is not certain is whether the Governor is waiting for the expiration of three (3) months before handing the rest of his appointees the appointment letters, so that they don’t lay claims to those arrears of salaries.
Meanwhile the effective date for the appointment of Special Adviser is May 23, 2020.
