An elaborate handover ceremony was last Wednesday November 1, 2017, organized in Abuja for the newly sworn-in, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustafa. The ceremony which took place at the Shehu Shagari Centre Abuja attracted so many dignitaries and technocrats who expressed satisfaction with the choice of the appointee.
Speaking at the event, Boss Mustafa who is also from Adamawa state like his predecessor, expressed his readiness to steer the ship of the office of SGF successfully. According to him, the responsibilities of the office are those of co-coordinating, monitoring and effective implementation of the policies, programmes and projects of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC administration.
By so doing, he said, “we will energize the Presidents formulated policies so that the fortunes, development and well beings of the people who rightly deserve them, can be realized and improved, tremendously. Only then, he said “change can be said to have taken place”. He also called for the cooperation of all so that as the engine room of the federal government with 21 different agencies, and 6 permanent secretaries, they do no fail to deliver.
In her own speech at the occasion, Dr. Mrs. Habiba Lawal who acted in that capacity for over six months while the former Babachir was on suspension, expressed optimism that Boss Mustafa would succeed adding that as civil servants, “it is our job to serve every successive government in power by following due process in the implementation and formulation of government programmes and policies”. She has since resumed at the Ecological Fund Agency of the office of Mr. President, as Permanent secretary.
