Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe
It was an unparalled excitement that members of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA) received the news of the appointment of their Chief Patron, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe, as a Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State.
Nzekwe as a two term lawmaker of Imo State House Assembly played a leading role in giving the House a prominent place in the comity of state legislatures in the country between 2003 and 2011.
This was expressed in a release made available to Newsmen by the Board of Trustees of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly,through the secretary, Comrade Galore Ozokwere,yesterday.The release said that the youths of Orlu zone are very happy and satisfied with the Governor especially for considering their Chief Patron for such position.
The release noted that Prince Ugochukwu Nzwkwe who represented Nkwerre State constituency in the Imo House of Assembly for a record of eight years before he stepped aside is the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state prior to his appointment and had helped to reposition the party uncompromisingly, leading to APC’s victory.
They described his appointment as merited, and desirable,expressing confidence that the Governor will never be disappointed by such choice since Prince Nzekwe has over the years proved his mettle as a reputable political leader, party loyalist and team player who persevered in the face of uncertainties that reared their ugly heads in the party.
They prayed that the Almighty God will continue to grant Prince Nzekwe the wisdom, strength of character, political will and excellent health to discharge his duties to the satisfaction, appreciation and commendation of Governor Hope Uzodinma, who they said has demonstrated high regards for meritocracy over mediocrity, thus setting a standard that will remain the envy of those who mortgaged merit for mediocrity and equity and justice for all clannishness and familiocracy.
According to Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, with the likes of Prince Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe as part of the State Executive Council, Governor Hope Uzodinma will certainly deliver on his promise in the three (3) “R” mantra of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery.
