Ahead of the May 29, 2019, official inauguration and hand over ceremony to a new government in Imo state, a Lagos based business mogul, politician and community leader, Prince Donald Egenaokwu has called on Imolites not to be hasty in their expectations and demands from the Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.
Swagger advised Imo people to pray and give Ihedioha time to study the situation on ground, as to acquaint himself with the situation and decide from where to start.
Prince Donald,popularly known as “Swagger”, who aspired to represent Ideato North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2015, observed that there is much task in the state. “It is enormous. A lot of damages have been done to Imo physically and economically that the new Governor needs time to study the terrain to avoid the traps set for him”, he added.
Fielding more questions from our reporter on phone, the Ogboko born business man turned politician said, Imo people are expecting so much from Ihedioha but it is not automatic.
He observed that the state economy has been shattered and the civil/public service have gone down to zero with our education currently at it’s lowest ebb and agriculture nowhere in existence, leaving the people without jobs as our culture has been eroded with the traditional institution highly bastardized and descreted.
He expressed optimism that the Governor-elect is equal to the agenda he set for himself “to rebuild Imo” adding that, it needs a little time with the cooperation of every Imo person”.
He contended that Imo is our own and Ihedioha’s victory is our victory, hence, appealed to every Imo citizen to join hands with the incoming Governor to build a new Imo state, assuring the new government that Ideato Nation,Imolites in diaspora are poised to assist in efforts to rebuild the state.
