–          Frowns At Disconnection Between Them And Their Leaders

–          Decries Militarization Of S/E Region

Renowned business mogul and advocate of home-grown  economy, Ugwumba Uchenna Nnabundo has described Ndigbo, the South-East region of Nigeria as the most patriotic, unique and easy-going people in the world.

Ugwumba Nnabundo, researcher, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of V.TALS, a world-class Integrated Business Outfit that is based in Owerri, the Imo State capital made this observation recently while interacting with journalists.

Ugwumba Nnabundo who is also the Executive Director of Ugwumba Knowledge Institute(UKI), a research  Institute dedicated to solving the problems of humanity spoke on a wide range of  issues, including the nation in retrospect, especially in the year, 2024, and what 2025 has in stock for Nigerians, the place of Ndigbo in Nigeria among other topical issues.

According to him, from the beginning, precisely from the origin of creation, man created by God has been encompassed with myriads of problems, adding that man can only pray for the ability and enablement to solve these problems.

The researcher maintained that humans cannot shy away from problems but remain resolute to proffer solutions to them as they arise.

Appraising the political, economic and social indices in Nigeria, especially in the last one  year, the staunch advocate of free market enterprise and the dignity of labour stated that the problems have always been there, but was quick to add that the year 2024 was extraordinary and hellish for national survival.

He called for collaboration among all, beginning with the individual families, the Local Government, business communities, institutions, and others, with both the Federal and State governments serving as veritable coordinators to create enabling environment for thew much needed transformation.

According to Ugwumba Nnabundo, every human is created to fulfill a special purpose, adding that if all the human and natural resources in the country are well-harnessed and the proceeds transparently deployed,   Nigeria will stand tall in the comity of nations.

The industrialist lamented the high level of corruption index in the country, warning that it does not augur for a free society, as every segment is affected.

He said that the greatest problem confronting the nation is insecurity which has continued to threaten the moral, political, social and economic fabrics of the nation.

On the place of Ndigbo in Nigeria, Ugwumba Nnabundo described them as the most patriotic, unique and easy-going people in Nigeria, but regretted that their contributions towards national development are not been appreciated.

As one of the major ethnic nationalities in the country he said, Ndigbo through sheer patriotism have dominated trade, industry, and own more than 67 percent across the nation.

He also said that one of the greatest undoing of Ndigbo is marginalization, with the least Federal presence and appointments, a situation that  has resulted in ethnic and separatist agitations.

On whether this scenario can lead to imminent break-up, he posited that break-up might not be necessary if the right things are done.

He however blamed Igbo leaders for the lack of unity and cooperation, adding if they had put their acts together like their counterparts across the land, the present ugly state of affairs in lgbo land would have been nipped in the bud, and the present militarization of the South -East region would not be necessary.

He implored Igbo leaders to wake up from slumber and rise to the occasion by doing the needful.
