–  As Number Of Candidates Increases From 205 To 300

The Chief Executive Officer of Valentino Da Vinci (Nig) Ltd, Chief Valentine Ugballa, an international businessman and philanthropist has once again concluded plans for his 2025 scholarship scheme that is aimed at offsetting the educational expenses of brilliant youths who are interested in acquiring tertiary education but lack the funds to actualize their dreams.

Chief Ugballa, in a letter dated February, 2, 2025 and addressed to the Presidents General of the component autonomous communities in Okporo, namely, Amanafor Okporo, and Udogadi Okporo, captioned, “NOTIFICATION FOR THE CONTINUOUS PAYMENT OF JAMB FORMS AND UPWARD REVIEW FROM TWO HUNDRED AND FIVE (205) TO THREE HUNDRED (300) INDIGENE AND NON INDIGENE STUDENTS IN OKPORO CLAN”, said, “Recall that in January 2024, we paid for JAMB forms for Two Hundred and Five (205) indigenes from Okporo and its environ who their names came through you and through the churches in Okporo.

“We are glad to inform you that Ten (10) students of the Two Hundred and Five students that participated in the 2024 edition of this programme, qualified for the second stage of Valentino Ugbala Champion of the Champions Scholarship programme. They are still on our scholarship, studying different courses in different universities in Nigeria.

“The last batch of the candidates that qualified will receive their gifts and cash prices on Sunday  February 16, 2025.

“This year, we are extending this gesture from Two Hundred and Five (205) students to Three Hundred (300) students.

“Please note: This is strictly for indigent students whose parents cannot afford to sponsor for their tertiary education.

“The nominees for this programme will get  letters of recommendation from your offices, stating their full information. In addition, the nominees will attach two passport photographs, valid National Identification Numbers (NIN) and evidence of last schools attended while submitting the letter at the Champion of the Champions training Centre located at Eze Ibenye Ugbala Road, Amanator Okporo, Orlu for the processing and capturing of the JAMB forms.”

The letter which was copied to all the churches in Okporo, irrespective of denomination, all traditional rulers in Okporo clan, all village chairmen and also to the member, representing Orlu, Orsu, Oru East Federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, further said, “Please kindly communicate to your people to enable  interested candidates to apply. Valid till 1st March 2025.

Recall that Chief Ugballa’s name has become a recurring decimal in Okporo, as regards the empowerment of youths and enhancing the actualization of their educational dreams and aspirations.

Speaking during the flagoff of the 2024 edition of the scholarship programme, Valentino said, “This programme is a continuous yearly programme. This initiative which is a humanitarian service is part of our corporate social responsibility and my humble contribution to the development of education and empowerment of youths in Okporo, Imo State and Nigeria in General”.

Commenting on his Foundation’s gesture in 2024, the Chief Executive Officer of Valentino Nigeria Ltd, Chief Valentino Ugbala, (Ikuku oma n’ Orlu) an acclaimed international business man said, “we do this annually because we see it as a way of appreciating God and paying back to the society what God has done for me as a person and for my company as a corporate entity.

“After the qualifying examination that will be conducted at Central School , II Okporo on September, 29 , 2024 by seasoned academics most of who are Professors in different fields, including Prof Akah, Prof Onyeka, Prof Ukaoba, Prof Otiwu and Hon Mrs Ukagba, the successful ones will be sponsored in different federal and state universities.  

“Those who were not short-listed for one reason or the other, will be empowered through our skill acquisition programme. That way nobody who participated from the onset will be a loser”.
