– Recounts Okorocha, Uche Nwosu’s Alleged Atrocities
Uche Nwosu, former Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in law and erstwhile Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, is in the news again for the very wrong reasons, as a group known as Journey of Grace Movement has taken a swipe at him for allegedly sponsoring negative reports in the newspaper against the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, for no just cause.
Reacting to a publication they claimed was sponsored by Uche Nwosu, the group’s Director, Publicity and Strategy, Emeka Uwaezoka, in a release he signed said, “our attention has been drawn to a rather baseless and childish publication, clearly sponsored by Mr. Uche Nwosu, aimed at tarnishing the reputation of His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere, former Deputy Governor of Imo State.
Ordinarily, His Excellency Prince Madumere, would not dignify such trivialities with a response.
However, in the interest of correcting the web of misinformation and providing clarity, we have decided to drop a few lines.
First and foremost, it must be made clear that Prince Eze Madumere did not authorize the so-called publication that has so visibly unsettled Mr. Uche Nwosu.
The said article was, from our own understanding, the opinion of a bona fide citizen of Imo State, who chose to recount events from that period as he saw fit.
It is unfortunate that Mr. Nwosu and his hirelings have chosen to interpret this as an attack on himself and his father-in-law, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Upon review of the publication, we struggled to ascertain where the writer was wrong in his assertions.
Was it not true that Senator Rochas Okorocha and his family sought to transform Imo State into an extension of their personal empire?
Why else would he attempt to impose his son-in-law on the people if not to preserve their control over the state?
Under Okorocha’s administration, the treasury was looted, lands were illegally acquired, and Imo State was turned into a playground for his family’s ambitions. He desperately needed a family member in power to protect these interests.
This was a blatant attempt to enslave Ndi Imo, and it was Prince Madumere who courageously stood against this unholy agenda”.
The release further stated that, “Did Prince Eze Madumere support this unpopular, selfish, and oppressive plan? No, he did not. Even when offered the Owerri Senate seat as a bribe to join their scheme, he outrightly rejected it.
Instead, Prince Madumere chose to side with Ndi Imo and stood firm in defence of their freedom.
His principled stand earned him persecution from Rochas Okorocha, including an attempted impeachment, withdrawal of security to expose him to harm, and the withholding of his salaries and entitlements.
It is worth noting that Ndi Imo, recognizing Prince Madumere’s sacrifices, rallied around him.
They provided him with security and camped outside his home to ensure his safety. This overwhelming support from the people showcased their appreciation for his selflessness and his refusal to bow to tyranny.
Prince Madumere, also played a critical role in the emergence of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as the Governor of Imo state.
He was instrumental in thwarting Okorocha’s attempt to hijack the APC ticket and worked tirelessly to ensure Senator Uzodimma’s victory as the Executive Governor of Imo State.
It is quite amusing to hear Mr. Uche Nwosu accuse Prince Eze Madumere of fabricating stories about his role in Senator Hope Uzodimma’s emergence as our party’s candidate.
Perhaps Mr. Nwosu is suffering from selective amnesia and needs medical attention, given how conveniently he has forgotten that it was Prince Eze Madumere who took him to court and ultimately cost him the party’s ticket, paving the way for Senator Hope Uzodimma.
In response to Mr. Nwosu’s desperate attempts to rewrite history, it is clear that Prince Eze Madumere does not need to engage in staged street walks or publicity stunts to prove his connection with Ndi Imo.
He lives and walks freely among the people daily without fear, unlike those who hide behind bulletproof vehicles and heavy security.
If anyone should be ashamed, it is Mr. Uche Nwosu and his father-in-law, Rochas Okorocha, the latter, who we all witnessed in a viral video begging God for mercy when the EFCC came knocking.
Their selfish plot to turn Ndi Imo into their private slaves is a stain on the history of Imo State.
Under Okorocha, poverty was weaponized as a tool of control, businesses were destroyed, and lives were ruined, all in a bid to weaken the resistance of Ndi Imo and secure his family’s grip on power.
If not for Prince Madumere’s courage and steadfastness, the Okorocha dynasty might have succeeded, and perhaps by 2027, his daughter would have been warming up to take over the state. God forbid!
Uche Nwosu claims that without Rochas Okorocha, there would be no Prince Eze Madumere. But let’s be clear: the reverse is equally, if not more, true. Without Prince Eze Madumere, there would have been no Rochas Okorocha as governor of Imo State.
Without Prince Eze Madumere’s sacrifices which included his arrest and detention during the 2011 election, all of which helped Okorocha emerge, there would not have been an Uche Nwosu.
If Prince Eze Madumere had taken sides with His Excellency Dr. Ikedi Ohakim during the 2011 elections, Okorocha would never have governed Imo State.
So let’s not forget the personal truth—without Prince Eze Madumere, there would be no Uche Nwosu attempting to smuggle himself into power through the backdoor of marriage to Okorocha’s daughter, the only “qualification” he ever brought to the table in his bid to govern Ndi Imo.
Prince Eze Madumere’s unwavering commitment to Ndi Imo and his role in liberating the state from Okorocha’s grip are undeniable.
The truth stands, unshaken by propaganda or desperation. Prince Madumere remains a man of integrity and principle, and no amount of lies or distractions can change the fact that he stood on the side of Ndi Imo when it mattered most”.
