The former member for Isu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Mrs Ngozi Obiefule celebrates her birthday, while also retrospecting on how she navigated through life by hawking lamps to augment her husband, a military officer’s income.
The vibrant two term lawmaker who received several merit awards for her outstanding performance, narrated her experience in a post on her social media platform.
She said, “As I celebrate my birthday today, and reflect on how I started a business with N300 twenty five years ago. As the wife of a military officer, precisely a Major, hawking lamps to support my husband’s earnings instead of sitting at home complaining, to when I made my first million three years later.”
She also recalled how she joined politics in 2011 and became the Mayor of Aka City that gave her the opportunity to build the most modern market in Imo state (Afor Umuaka) before representing Isu state constituency for two consecutive terms as a legislator in the Imo State House of Assembly.
“I really believe that my secret is my firm belief that there are no impossibilities for a determined person who doesn’t give a damn about what anyone thinks of him or her. People will talk no matter what you do.
How can there be impossibilities when I believe in a God of impossibilities and was created in His image? The word impossibility is therefore only for fools. Tourism to other planets has started, conception without sex is now possible, flying taxis are here and the world is now a global village.
To succeed, you have to lose sight of the shores and believe in yourself. Communicate with your God directly not through Pastors or Priests. These are guides. Who can tell God your needs more than yourself? God is love and he is always there.”
My prayers every day ” God fill my heart with love for you my thoughts with thoughts of you and my breath especially my last be safe with you.
Some are limited by the fear of death. Is there a 150 year old living?
Don’t day old babies die? It’s a title all mortals will take. What you can’t change you accept. I dedicate all that I am today to my God of impossibilities.”
