A frontline gubernatorial aspirant of the United Progressive Party (UPP) and initiator of the “not too young to run bill” in Nigeria, Hon. Tony Nwulu has felicitated with Imolites and Nigerians in general on the occasion of the 58th independence anniversary celebration with a clarion call on compatriots, to eschew ethnic and religious sentiments and strive to work together in unity and peace, for the future of our country.

In his independence anniversary message to Nigerians, he stated that though many things are not in their right perspectives, we have to be hopeful of our dreams of a united Nigeria, with people filled with faith of many great possibilities.

He charged Nigerians to keep working together to confront and surmount the challenges of our time, which include corruption, gender inequality, infant mortality, health, infrastructural, decay in education, job creation, transportation, electricity etc now that elections are around the corner and strive to work on our strength of true nationalism for the unity and growth of our nation.

He urged Nigerians to remember the gallant men and women who fought and died that we may live “without their sacrifices here wouldn’t have been safe for us”, therefore let tolerance and love be the watchword of the day.

The Mbaise, Imo State, born politician who represents Oshodi/Isolo II Federal constituency Lagos in the National Assembly further stated that we live a dynamic and changing world, and must never give up, but believe that our country will someday be a front runner of true democracy. “Thus, as we remember everything in Nigeria, let us not fail to take comfort in the good of the land, in the greenness of Nigeria”, he stated.

Concluding his independence anniversary message, he posited, “I choose to look forward to the silver lining that will herald a new and better country governed with honesty, truth and justice”.

He counseled that the struggle for a better Nigeria must continue.
