– Says; To Err, Is Human
The President General of Akwakuma autonomous community, in Owerri North Local Government Area, of Imo State, Chief Pascal Emeana, has tendered unreserved apology to the leaders and stakeholders in his community and the President General of Uratta autonomous community, Chief Stanley Ukaga, over what he described as a regrettable publication he made in the August, 30, 2024, edition of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, where he bluntly told the President General of Uratta autonomous community, Chief Stanley Ukaga not to attend the 2024 August meeting of Akwakuma women.
Chief Emeana, in a statement dated September, 25, 2024, which he personally signed and made available to the press, said, “reference to all I said in the Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper edition of Friday, August, 30, 2024, I hereby tender unreserved apology to the leaders, stakeholders and all indigenes of Akwakuma autonomous community at home and in the Diaspora. In the same vein, I tender sincere apology to Chief Stanley Ukaga, the President General of Uratta autonomous community. I regret the embarrassment and inconvenience the publication may have caused all concerned. We all know that, to err, is human while forgiveness is divine”.
Recall, that Chief Paschal Emeana, had in the August, 30, 2024, edition of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, warned Chike Ukaga who was expected to address Akwakuma women at the grand finale of their August meeting not to step his legs in Akwakuma on that day because he, (Ukaga) neither informed him nor sought his permission as the President General and administrative head of the community.
According to him, all the issues that led to the misunderstanding and communication gap have been peacefully and amicable resolved. Hence, the unreserved apology.
