–         Chief Pharmacist, Maduike, Fingered

The Chief Pharmacist of College of Health and Management Sciences, Amaigbo, in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, Ifeanyi Wilson Maduike, seems to be presently in the eye of the storm over alleged discrepancies in his first School Leaving Certificate, date of birth, date of confirmation of appointment, among other questionable records in his file.

It is alleged that Maduike, who according to records in his file was born on October, 22, 1961, has October, 16, 2001, while his letter of appointment as a full time Pharmacist was dated January, 16, 2001.

Maduike’s claims of having obtained the First School Leaving Certificate FSLC at the of 9 during the civil war that ravaged and truncated the educational and socio-economic status quo between 1967 and 1970 is also being questioned by a cross section of the management and staff of the institution who are still wondering how he was able to accomplish such that at a time that school were closed, teachers running helter skelter for safety.

A reliable source in the school who does not want his name mentioned said, “what broke the camel’s back is Pharmacist Maduike’s overzealous futile desire to become the Provost of the institution without following due process.

This, it was gathered led to the intense scrutiny of his service records which exposed several discrepancies, including the fact that, he has two letters of confirmation of appointment that bear November, 16, 2011 and August, 27, 2014 respectively, thereby triggering suspicion in several quarters.

It was also gathered that, Maduike, who also lectures at the Holy Rosary School of Health Technology, Emekuku doubles as a Consultant to Chapel Group Hospital, Amakohia, in Owerri North Local Government Area took a loan of Two Hundred Thousand Naira #200,000 from the institution in 2013 and has only paid the sum of fifty thousand Naira since then, leaving the balance one hundred and fifty thousand naira unpaid till date.

Another top official of the Institution queried how Maduike who sat for O’level Examination two times to enable him pass English Language claimed to had obtained FSLC at the age of nine years even when everybody knows that there was an age bracket through which one can be qualified to be admitted into elementary school then.

He called on the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to constitute a committee that would commence full investigation of the Chief Pharmacist’s claims.

He called on the Governor of Imo State Dist Senator Hope Uzodinma, to, as a matter of urgency constitute a panel to investigate the myriad of allegations against Pharmacist Maduike, with a view to ascertaining his claims.

“Maduike only submitted statement of Degree result dated 1991 instead of making his certificate public before now even as he has barely two years to retire. He has been flouting the rules of this institution because he wants to emerge the Provost whereas our present Provost, Pharmacist Ethelbert Okechukwu Obiasogu is performing creditably well. He may be enjoying supports of some top government officials to be injecting trouble into the Institution. Today, we have E-library, Computer Based Training Centre,75kva sound proof courtesy of Pharm. Obiasogu. Our students were recently mobilized for National Youth Service Corps, NYSC across the country, and we have conducive lecture halls courtesy of Pharm. Obiasogu. Maduike should explain why he has two appointment confirmation letters whereas I am aware that he was duly confirmed in 2014 by the regime of Mrs Ngozi Duru as the Provost. How come did he parade another letter back dated to 2011. Truly, he supposed to be confirmed in 2011 based on the rule of civil service, but he was in loggerhead with the then Provost. All his gimmick is how to become the Provost before his retirement in 2026, but what should be carefully queried about is his date of birth as nobody will claim to had finished primary school at 9yrs amidst the then horrible Nigeria civil war “,our source insisted”.
