-Ezebuihe Assumes Duty As Mbieri  Apex Leader

– Party Bans All kinds Of Meetings

Crisis has continued to brew in Mbaitoli APC following the total rejection of Fidelis Akuchie’s chairmanship ambition by Mbieri clan and the removal of Chief Marcellinous Nlemigbo as the Apex Leader of the clan.

The removal of Nlemigbo who was a former APC chairman of Imo State was occasioned by what could be described as leadership failure revealed by critical stakeholders of the party during the APC Mbeiri Clan Stakeholders’ Meeting on 9th of August, 2024.

At the meeting, the stakeholders condemned Nlemigbo’s failure as a leader to organize members of the party and berated his visible efforts to impose a factional leader of the clan, Fidelis Akuchie who is believed to be unqualified, incompetent and undeserving of the Mbaitoli Chairmanship position.

They described Akuchie as a tool for  divisiveness having being a factional  president General of the clan who is renowned for disuniting the Clan during Deacon Okwuodu’s regime as the democratically elected president general, breaching peace and protecting his selfish interest against the progress and overall good of the party.

However, the outcome of the stakeholders’ meeting and the unanimous declaration of Chief Princewill Ezebuihe as the new Apex Leader of Mbieri clan has culminated to his assumption of duty as the Acting Apex Leader of Mbieri clan as widely accepted by the Clan.

In a recent development, the APC leadership of Mbaitolu has issued a release, warning all members and leaders of the party to desist from holding any bloc or sectional meetings under the guise of furthering the course of Mbaitoli APC in their respective areas, stressing that any meetings convened in the name of APC without the express approval of the party, as now represented by the Acting Chairman, Chief Kelechi Obi, is one done with a tacit plan to create disharmony and to destroy the Party’s cohesion in Mbaitoli.

The release signed by Hon Emma Ebere Nwokoro, the Mbaitoli APC Party Secretary also emphasized the party’s resolve to deal with defaulters using the most appropriate Sanction under the law. The Ward Chairmen were also prohibited from attending any of such meetings except the ones conducted in furtherance of individuals’ consultancy as aspirants in the election, adding that aspirants have their individual rights to continue their consultation with members until the primaries are over.

According to the party leadership, suspension of meetings is necessary to frustrate every individual or group pursuing their sectional and/ or personal interest of hoping to influence the Party’s Candidature in the upcoming Council Election.
