Opinion poll conducted by our correspondent among APC leaders has placed Hon. Henry Ikenna Egwuatu as the best choice for the Chairmanship position of Orlu Local Government Area come September,2024 Imo State Council election.
Some of the Orlu APC leaders who spoke to this reporter described Egwuatu as a grassroot politician who has the needs of Orlu people on his finger tips.
According to them,”Egwuatu popularly known as “Ozuome” has the capacity and needed requirements to occupy the number one seat of Orlu Local Government Area.
We are ready to vote for “Ozuome” in the forthcoming Local Government election.
Our decision to elect him our LGA Chairman cut across party lines. He is contesting under the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC,but we have a collective decision to deliver him.
Orlu has two political blocs,Orsu and Isu clans. Isu clan is currently occupying Imo State House of Assembly seat. While it’s the turn of Orsu clan to produce the Executive Chairman of Orlu Local Government. And we are happy that Hon. Egwuatu hails from Orsu clan. So,we congratulate him in advance”.
In a related development, the Orlu Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC,Hon. Stanley Nwosu(Ochinanwata) has flayed the recent media report accusing him of ceding the Party ticket to Hon. Egwuatu describing those behind the publication as mischief makers.
“I wonder why some people instead of facing realities of life,went ahead to fabricate issues. Those who accused me of collecting #500,000, reaching agreement of sharing formula of LGA allocation after election as well as taking oath with Hon. Egwuatu should provide evidence. The truth of the matter is that Ozuome is one of the top contenders of the Chairmanship position. And he is a grassroot politician from Isu clan”, the party Chairman revealed.
When contacted via cellphone,Hon. Egwuatu stated that he has no time to reply detractors at this moment maintaining that he is busy mobilizing for a victorious outing for the forthcoming APC primary elections.
“Those who authored the publication are afraid of my popularity in Orlu. Let’s go to field and test our popularities. I am an ardent supporter of Governor Hope Uzodimma, and he remains my “political party”. I am urging members of the general public to disregard the publication. And I am only asking my people to look at my past antecedents and elect me their next Chairman “,he pleaded.
