– Union set to showcase rich cultural heritage of Orlu people
The forthcoming formal inauguration and fund raising ceremony of Orluzurumee in Germany slated for July 20,2024, according to the organizers, will be a very grand occasion that will showcase and project the cultural heritage of the 12 local government areas of Orlu zone and the entire Igbo nation.
The occasion will take place at Der Mehrzweckhalle in Der Schulanlage. 81549 Munchen at exectly 12Noon.
The group said, they are also using the occasion to solicit for funds from well meaning public spirited individuals and organizations to enable it build a befitting cultural center that will serve as a vibrant hub for our community.
According to the President of Orluzurumee in Germany, Nze Ifunanya Eze, “the group is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with a mission to foster unity and celebrate the diverse traditions of the Igbo people. Our efforts have not only strengthened our community in Germany but have also extended across continents, providing vital support to our people in Orlu, Nigeria, located in Imo State.
The twelve Orlu senatorial zones have greatly benefited from the love and unity drive spearheaded by Orluzurumee Germany e.V. Through various initiatives, we have built bridges of support and solidarity, ensuring that our cultural heritage thrives both in Germany and Nigeria.
“Our Cultural Centre will be more than just a building; it will be a beacon of our identity, a place where our children can learn our language, our history, and our customs, “We invite everyone to join us in this noble cause. Your support will help us create a lasting legacy for future generations”.
The fundraising campaign is aimed at gathering resources for the construction and operation of the Cultural Centre. The facility will host a variety of programs, including language classes, cultural workshops, traditional music and dance performances, and community gatherings. It will be a space where the Igbo community can come together to celebrate, educate, and preserve their cultural heritage.
Orluzurumee Germany e.V. has a long-standing tradition of helping one another and extending assistance to those in need. Our outreach programs in Orlu, Nigeria, have provided educational support, healthcare, and economic development opportunities to many. This spirit of love and unity is the cornerstone of our organization and the driving force behind our initiatives”.
The inauguration will feature traditional Igbo ceremonies, cultural performances, and speeches from distinguished guests, including community leaders and cultural ambassadors. It promises to be a day filled with pride, joy, and a reaffirmation of our shared values.
