The Governorship election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, will on Friday, May, 24, 2024, deliver judgement in the petition filed by the Labour Party governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Athan Achonu, challenging Governor Hope Uzodinma’s victory in the November, 11, 2023 election.
This was disclosed in a release signed by the Legal Adviser of Labour Party in Imo State, Barr Ihejirika Emeka and made available to the press.
The release reads thus, “We have been formally notified by the Tribunal Secretary that Judgment will be delivered in the Petition filed by our Party and Governorship candidate Senator Athan Achonu against Senator Hope Uzodinma, INEC & Others.
Date is Friday 24th May, 2024 by 9.am at NJI Abuja.
Our Legal Team delivered a very sound, compelling and convincing evidence as well as great legal submissions during the trial of the Petition.
Hence we are very optimistic that our Petition will find merit in the eyes of the learned Tribunal Judges.
We still have confidence in the judiciary and the believe that the Tribunal will be guided by law and evidence in delivering their judgment.
