Accolades and commendations have trailed the distribution of cash and educational materials to schools in Imo State on the April, 19, 2024 by the View Foundation Educational Outreach in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
The event was held at St. Mary’s Primary School Umudim, Ikeduru where pupils, teachers, parents and Imolites gathered to witness the remarkable humanitarian gesture.
Founder of the View Foundation, Engr. Chukwuemeka Victor Anyanwu while speaking at the event, emphasized that he chose to invest in primary schools as a result of his extraordinary love for educating the young ones, adding that education is the best gift and investment a child can have.
His words “I was once a child. I am where I am today because I am educated. There is need to invest in educating our children for immense future benefits. Today, the View Foundation wish to interface with these young ones who will surely become great leaders tomorrow. We believe that the best investment in life is human capital development, hence we shall continue to contribute our quota to ensure the growth and development of the younger ones”.
He revealed that the educational outreach was flagged off in 2023 with the Foundation donating cash and educational materials to schools, stressing that as they mark their one year anniversary with gratitude to God for the enablement and grace to impact lives, they are passionately committed to improving the educational standard of many schools in Imo and beyond.
According to him, the educational empowerment will be an annual program as the foundation seeks to invest in many schools especially in the rural communities of Ikeduru and other LGAs of Imo State.
He expressed gratitude to the Head Masters and teachers present, for collaborating with him to organize such event for the pupils, assuring them of his willingness to work in synergy with the schools in proffering solutions to the needs of the pupils.
Engr. Anyanwu donated cash, desks, books and other materials to the schools, while announcing that the foundation has the Common Entrance and Standard Six Examination fees of 31 pupils from Umuonyeukwu Community Primary School, Brilliant Nursery and Primary School Salvation Army Primary School respectively, all in Ikeduru Local Government Area.
He gave the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira each to the three schools that were represented, to assist the management of the schools and also gave some money to families of the pupils as the Foundation’s support to these families in the face of Nigeria’s biting economy.
The Assistant Headmistress of Umuonyeukwu Community Primary School, Mrs. Udeogu Ugonwa who spoke at the event, appreciated the View Foundation for their timely intervention in these schools, highlighting some of the challenges the schools were undergoing prior to the Foundation’s intervention.
She also revealed that the Foundation gave financial assistance to some schools in the LGA last year which helped in the repair and replacement of some damaged facilities in the schools, stressing that the View Foundation has increased the standard of the schools and made their environments conducive for learning.
The pupils and teachers unanimously expressed their gratitude to the View Foundation for assisting to address some deplorable conditions of their schools, thereby, helping the students to improve greatly in their academic performances.
