– Accuses Gov Of Insensitivity To peoples’ Plight
– Urges Him To Swear In Appointees
The Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Imo State, Barr Kissinger Ikeokwu, has called on the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma to stop his frequent and unnecessary visits to Abuja and concentrate on the governance of the state which is his cardinal responsibility.
Ikeokwu, who stated this in a broadcast on his social media platform averred that the governor’s frequent visits to Abuja, where he spends most of his time and visits the state periodically at enormous cost to shows that he is insensitive to the plight of the people whose welfare should be his primary concern.
Ikeokwu, also berated the Governor for running the state like a one-man show, as none of the appointees has been sworn in two months after the Governor formally assumed office for his second tenure.
“The state is standstill and the people are suffering, yet Governor Uzodinma spends very huge amounts to display his achievements on television and other media platforms. There is basically no justification for the Governor’s failure to inaugurate those he belatedly appointed as Commissioners, because having served out his first tenure, he knows enough about those he worked with and also has what it takes to investigate the background of the new appointees.
Commenting on how the inauguration of appointees and the speedy take off of governance in the state will cushion the effect of the prevailing hardship, Ikeokwu, emphatically stated that he does not need any political appointment but “most of the appointees if inaugurated will likely reach out to their friends and kinsmen, thereby enhancing the circulation of money and other indices of goodwill.
“The bottom line of it all is that Governor Hope Uzodinma should stop this habit of staying in Abuja and coming to Imo State to make one or two appointments and jets back to Abuja at the expense of the state”.
