–         Condemn Circulation Of Fake, Misleading Letter

–         Reaffirm Support For PG, Oparaugo

The Obi Mbieri Traditional institution including all the Village Heads, have passed a vote of no confidence on Chief Iwuajoku, who they berated for circulating fake and misleading information that does not have the approval of constituted authorities. They also distanced and dissociated themselves from the contents of the letter and the activities of the author, which they said are capable of causing confusion that may lead to chaos.

This was contained in a statement they issued and made available to the press.

They concurred with the Village Heads of Obi Eguzo and Umu Eke who warned Chief Iwuajoku and other purveyors of falsehood to desist from making false and inflammable statements that are capable of heating up the polity and setting the community ablaze.

The group also threw their weight behind the PG, Oparaugo and the Traditional Prime Minister of Obi Mbieri, Prof Kyrian Ndikom who they said has advised the affected villages to desist from attending ill-motivated gatherings at the palace of the traditional ruler of Obi Mbieri community, HRH, Eze Josiah Osuji, until he returns from his journey aboard.

They further averred that any person or group of persons who attend any meeting in the Eze’s palace, despite this warning, will be presumed to be aiding and abetting lawlessness and disorder in the community.

“The PG and TPM with our tacit support and endorsement has made it categorically clear that there is no village in Obi Mbieri named Umuihe and under no circumstance will any new village be created in Obi Mbieri Community. Besides, our traditional ruler, HRH, Eze Josiah Osuji, will not approve such action due to his established infirmity.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Eze’s Cabinet, Chief Jonathan Osuji, has said that the Council of Obi Mbieri Village Heads unanimously elects to allow the peace Committee set up by the member, representing Mbaitoli State constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, on the Obi Mbieri matter to conclude it’s finding and notify the lawmaker accordingly.

“Though, the people of Obi Mbieri are peaceful and law abiding, we collectively reject illegality and will stop at nothing to resist it. We also wish to state in unequivocal terms that the long absence of the traditional ruler of Obi Mbieri community, HRH Eze Josiah Osuji, has given rise to all kinds of illegality and disorderly conduct by some individuals with questional antecedents. This is unacceptable and should be addressed urgently to avoid unpleasant circumstances”.
