– Father Dies Of Shock
The last may not have been heard about the frightening level of insecurity and attendant hazards ravaging the nooks and crannies of the South east geopolitical zone as dare devil gunmen recently snuffed life out of a lawyer and former House of Representatives candidate for the Ihiala Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the February, 25, 2023 election, Mr Oguejiofor.
The late Oguejiofor, an indigene of Orsumoghu, in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, who was reportedly abducted at about 1 am last week, alongside his brother who is a medical doctor, lived in Nnewi Local Government Area.
A family source who does not want his name in print told our correspondent that the duo were abducted in Orsumoghu community where they went to see their aged parents.
The source further stated that the gunmen accused the deceased of writing several petitions against them and their activities in the community which is said to have been very volatile.
It was gathered that late Oguejiofor’s aged father slumped and died when he heard that the gunmen had killed his son.
One of Oguejiofor’s professional colleagues, Chidi IIbekaeme, said, the deceased was passionately concerned about the activities of hoodlums and gunmen in his community and continuously brought it to the front burner of public discourse.
“His (Oguejiofor’s) community is very volatile. The community is virtually run down and taken over by these criminals who say they are agitating for freedom,” he said.
When contacted, the police spokesperson in Anambra State, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said he had no information on the incident”.
