– Thanks ImolitesS, PDP Faithful For Massive Votes
Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the just concluded Imo State governorship election has expressed gratitude to Imolites, PDP faithful and his teeming supporters for their votes and massive support which he said gave him undisputable victory in the November, 11, 2023 governorship election in the State. He assured them that he will use every legal means to reclaim the mandate given to him by Imo people.
Sen. Anyanwu, well known as Sam Daddy disclosed this during the Inauguration of the PDP new State executive. He vehemently condemned the heinous attacks on him and the numerous falsehood peddled against him, such as his purported withdrawal from the race on the eve of the election, being a placeholder for Governor Uzodinma and the alleged collection of 2.5 billion naira. All these he said were propaganda and fabrications targeted at bringing him and SamJones Campaign Organization down.
He described the November, 11, 2023 Imo State governorship election as a total rape of democracy, a broad day robbery of Imo Peoples mandate, a coordinated plot to destabilize and disfigure a people already injured by the same Cartel that has denied Imo people peace. He recalled with sadness how the ruling party openly declared a fratricidal war against ndi Imo on the election day. Narrating his experience that day, he said that his convoy was attacked and four of his vehicles vandalized, while the PDP deputy governorship candidate Hon. Jones Onyeriri was attacked in his home by armoured personnel carrier and dangerously armed men but survived solely by God’s special grace.
According to him, the election was marred by irregularities, intimidation, brutal force and indiscriminate shooting by those who ought to ensure peace, orderliness, free, fair and credible election, adding that it is unfortunate that officers of the state aided and abated all manner of electoral malpractices, thuggery, ballot box snatching, massive thumb printing of ballot papers and all worth not just to steal victory for the APC.
Senator Anyanwu, regretted the fact that the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, reneged in it’s promise to ensure the implementation of the guiding principle of free, fair electoral process, saying that it was observed that in some polling units, the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) recorded less number of accredited voters in the (IReV) but far and overreaching votes were awarded in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
With their eyes on the Ball, Anyanwu emphasized that Imo PDP will not deter from delivering their avowed promises to ndi Imo.
“Imolites have been injured. Our collective patrimony has been withered. Our cries and wounds know no bounds. My heart bleeds for the freedom of our people from the wicked governance of the state. We shall not relent in the pursuit for the liberation of our people. The man dies in him who keeps quiet in the face of tyranny.
“We shall deploy all acceptable and a known legal machinery to recover our stolen mandate. To make Imo safe again is a task that must be accomplished. Rest assured that the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them no more”, he reiterated.
