– Reiterates Commitment To Restoring Security, Ensure Socio-economic Transformation Of Imo State
The Labour Party candidate for the Imo State governorship election scheduled to hold, November, 11, 2023, Senator Athan Achonu, his beloved wife, Aisha and members of his Campaign team, attended a special Sunday service at Lifeline Assembly Inc. The Ehime Mbano born politician and business mogul and his entourage, joined other worshippers in their First Sunday anointing service, a monthly program to rejuvenate their faith in God and service to humanity.
The congregation welcomed Senator, Achonu his wife and members of his campaign team warmly, while the Presiding Bishop, His Lordship, Maxwell Korie wished them well in their determination to transform and reposition Imo State.
He also expressed delight for the Senator’s commitment to the welfare of Imo State and the nation at large.
In his sermon, Bishop Korie spoke about keeping God’s covenant stressing that God blesses those who keep their covenant with Him.
Senator Athan Achonu, who addressed the congregation during the service, outlined his vision for the sustainable development of Imo State through constructive engagement with stakeholders to restore peace, reintegrate restive youths into active and gainful employments, bringing sanity into governance, construction of 2 industrial parks in each of the 3 senatorial zones including a Pharmaceutical Park in Orlu Zone; education and skills development; full Autonomy of the Local Government; infrastructural/human capital development, etc.
Recognizing the challenges faced by Imo State, he emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address the security concerns and to foster economic growth.
Senator Achonu highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government, communities, and relevant stakeholders to achieve these goals. He pledged to work tirelessly to implement policies and initiatives that would enhance security and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, ultimately leading to increased employment opportunities for the people of Imo State.
Speaking further, the Labour Party governorship candidate stated that Imo State is a land rich in history, culture, natural resources, and great potential. Our people are industrious, resilient, and passionate about their heritage. However, we face numerous challenges that hinder our progress and development. It is time for us to come together, united in our pursuit of a better future.
