– Condemns Latest Killings In Agwa Community
Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA), the apex umbrella body of youths in the 12 Local Government Areas of Orlu zone has called on the Governor of Imo State, senator Hope Uzodinma to, as a matter of urgency beam his searchlight on what they described as the nefarious activities of the State owned Ebubeagu Security outfit in different parts of Orlu zone where they have consistently unleashed mayhem on the people, resulting in multiple deaths, arson and inexplicable disappearance of innocent people, especially youths.
The group in a release signed by its National President, Comrade Thaddeus Emejuru, condemned the rate of mindless killings in different parts of Orlu zone, especially around the Agwa, Izombe and Ejemekwuru axis, where the youths, according to them have become endangered species.
The release dated, June, 18, 2023 stated that, ‘’Sequel to the sad news from Agwa, a community in Oguta LGA of Orlu Zone, Imo State as narrated to us on Sunday, June 18,2023 where some gunmen said to be members of Ebubeagu security outfit invaded the rustic community and opened fire on the Youths, Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, as the Apex socio cultural Youth organization in Orlu zone, condemns in its entirety the gruesome murder of innocent youths and calls on all the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and end the spate of extra-judicial killings in the zone.
Our sincere condolences and prayers are with the families of the deceased Youths as we call for justice’’.
