Rt.Hon Gozie Nwagba, former Leader of Orlu Legislative Council has expressed excitement over the emergence of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) as the Imo State Governorship candidate describing it as a good development that has united the party.
Nwagba described Anyanwu as a man of peace whose emergence will not only unite and cement the cracks on the walls of the party, but also put an end to the elitist mentality of some leaders of the party in the state.
‘’The PDP, has taken a very good and decisive step by electing Senator Anyanwu as its Governorship candidate for the November, 11, 2023 election. He has commendable wealth of experience in governance that is needed to address the several contending issues at a time like this”.
Nwagba urged those who are aggrieved for one reason or the other to sheath their swords and embrace reconciliation, bearing in mind that the party remains supreme.
He, expressed optimism that with the poor and inept performance of the APC led government in Imo State, the Coast is clear for Senator Anyanwu and the PDP to be victorious cruise home at the polls.
Besides, ‘’as a former Legislative leader of the Orlu Legislative Council I will, with my colleagues and friends ensure that he gets at least 90% of total vote cast in Orlu.
He berated some mischief makers who complained that Senator did not spend much on delegates, to have rethink because Nigeria has grown beyond the point where voters will be influenced to mortgage their conscience on the altar of self aggrandizement.
“Our country, Nigeria is presently on upward mobility, hence money politics and other vices should be jettisoned. There is urgent need for people to reduce the emphasis we wrongly place on money and other inducements”.
