The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, on Sunday, December, 18, 2022 held its end of year party in grand style, as members dressed in resplendent attires trooped out enmasse to have fun, jubilate and thank God for his bountiful blessings upon them despite the numerous challenges they faced from different quarters.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Precious Nwadike said, ‘’the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Imo State is well grounded and poised to change the narrative in terms of strict adherence to professional ethics, restoring the dignity of the profession and resisting the undue interference and manipulations of agents of government and some criminal elements in Abuja who attempted to sell the Union secretariat’’.
‘’He said, though the battle has been very fierce, with betrayals, treachery, subtle manipulations and intrigues of all kinds,we are focused, resolute and determined to weather the storm with the belief that justice will ultimately prevail and light will triumph over darkness no matter how long it takes’’.
We have also made up our mind that no amount of harassment, intimidation, persecution or arm twisting will make us forgo what rightfully belongs to Imo Journalists under any guise’’.
