One of the allies of former governor of Imo state, Rt.Hon Emeka Ihedioha, Engr Kingsley Chima Onwubiko yesterday announced his decision to leave People Democratic Party, PDP for Labour Party.
The Ezinihitte Mbaise-born highly reputable Civil Engineer and grassroots mobiliser is said to be one of the pillars of PDP in his Local government.
He contested the PDP primary to represent the Ezinihitte Mbaise at the Imo state House Assembly but was edged out against the age-long zoning arrangement in the Local government.
Recall that PDP state executive had gone into secret agreement with lawmakers who didn’t defect to APC when the party lost power APC through Supreme Court to return all of them in 2023.Despite the said arrangement, the party in a deceptive manner went ahead to sell forms at very exorbitant rates to aspirants.The five Imo lawmakers were eventually returned.
In a post on Onwubiko’s verified social media handle, he wrote with caption,”I HAVE ANSWERED THE CALL TO SERVE”,,”I AM IGBO, AM BOLD.”I have never had an opportunity such as this to fight for the RESTORATION on our Country, Nigeria based on the prevailing situation.
“Where there is a context between my brother and other tribes, I shall support my brother first irrespective of human calculations. No one is God though!
“We are now surrounded by the Fulanis more than ever. Our children have been at home for close to one year without school.Federal Government till date has not shown any genuine commitment to engage the lecturers and ensure that Academic staff Union of Universities call off the strike.
“Nigerians a optimistic that His Excellency, Peter Obi will restore the lost glory of Education in Nigeria.He did it in Anambra and will do it in Nigeria.
“I shall fight for the liberation of our people for personal reasons and no body should tell me the outcome because none is God.
