· Calls for his release
Mr Cornelius Ogbonna a native of Isieke Awomamma Community in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State has accused the Nigeria police of allegedly breaking into his family house on the 7th of February 2022, kidnapped their son Chimobi Ogbonna and branded him a member of IPOB.
Cornelius Ogbonna lamented that his son Chimobi who is 27 years old and an electrician by profession was with the members of his family observing the sit at home on that Monday morning when gunmen stormed their house and beat up all members of the family, after which they handcuffed and took to an unknown destination without any trace.
However,the family was shocked to read in Vanguard Newspaper days after that their son has been paraded as a member of the ESN/IPOB. Mr Ogbonna accused the police of framing up his son as a member of ESN/IPOB and called on the state government to order the police to release his son who he insisted is innocent.
Meanwhile,the leadership of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly says the attention of the assembly has been drawn to the unfortunate incident involving Mr Ogbonna Chimaobi who was forcefully kidnapped by the police and later branded ESN/IPOB.
The Assembly is calling on governor Hope Uzordinma and State Police Commissioner to immediately release Chimobi Ogbonna and other youths from Orlu zone who were illegally detained by the police.
