The Owerri West L.G.A Chapter of the All Progressive Congress APC on January 14, 2022 held its expanded meeting which aside recording a large turnout was attended by eminent politicians, leaders and stakeholders who pledged their continued support and loyalty to the party.
Speaking at the occasion, which held at the local government council headquarters Umuguma, the Chairman, Hon Humphrey Umunnakwe thanked the Leaders and members of the party for their support, encouragement, individual and collective contributions towards the growth and sustenance of the party.

The chairman who maintained that APC is deeply entrenched and formidable at the grassroot urged them to embark on membership drive with a view to attracting more members to the party.
He extolled the Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi who he said has contributed enormously to the growth of the party in the area.

Addressing the large turnout of party faithful at the meeting, the Oforola born Majority Leader, Hon Onyemaechi, commended the ward and LGA executives for being focused, committed and steadfast. He reassured them of his continued support.“In their speeches voices, Hon Noble Atulegwu, Barr GAS Amadi, Hon Chika Nwanesi and Trado Dr Kingsley Uneze who were thrilled by the large turn out of party members commended the party leadership for their efforts. They described party politics as a game of number and as such were pleased with the crowd present.
They finally commended Governor Uzodinma for his achievements in just two years in office despite the distractions and pledged their unalloyed support.
Other leaders present at the meeting include; Hon Sabinus Ogbonna, Chief Buchi Oparaugo, Hon Chukwunyere Amaechi, Chief Victor Osuji, Hon Prince Osinachi Amako, Hon Uju Okere, Hon Victor Nwankwo, Mrs Okpo, Hon Ken Ibemere, Hon Victor Osuigwe, Dr (Mrs) Oguzie, Hon Mrs Chinyere Ofurum, Mr Kelvin Unakalamba and All the IMC members.”
Hon Onyemaechi further stated that meeting was convened to interact with party faithful, on the prevailing challenges in their various wards and chart a way forward. He also promised to provide funds for the smooth running of the party in the ten wards.
A chieftain of the APC and Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Abuja, Barr Victor Muruako in his speech at the meeting, commended Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi for his unquantifiable financial, material and moral support for the party which he said has made APC the predominant party in the area and beyond.
“It is on recond that Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi has performed creditably and has not been found wanting in terms of quality and effective representation. Our focus now is to ensure that APC remains formidable and set for victory at the polls.”
