People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members in Amaimo Ward, Ikeduru local government area of Imo state recently hosted their son and National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu.
The event put together by various PDP structures in the area attracted leaders and stakeholders in Amaimo Ward, Ikeduru LGA and Imo state at large.
Expressing joy at the gesture, Senator Anyanwu appreciated the organizers for the surprise reception, and promised not to disappoint them.
He urged them to sustain the peace and tranquillity existing so far in the party, appealing to those aggrieved to come back home.
Anyanwu stated that the door of PDP is widely open to accommodate everyone, and warned those fanning the embers of discord to shun politics of rancour and acrimony to ensure victory in the 2023 elections.
According to him, “what PDP needs now is for everyone to embark on membership drive to spread the message of peace, unity and genuine reconciliation. I urge you today to use the same strength, energy and sincerity of purpose you have displayed to propagate the party to the grassroots”
“As you can see, APC has woefully failed Nigerians and the need to show them the way out is imminent and non negotiable. PDP cannot do it alone without you who are dedicated members with the burning desire to be part of the success story of this great nation”
Speaking in the same vein, PDP Chairman in Ikeduru LGA, Hon Jeofrey Ihemtuge commended the leadership of the Ward for their proactiveness in moving the Party forward, and described the reception as worthwhile.

Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the party in the Ward, Comrade Solomon Agham said that members decided to organize the reception at the behest of their son as a way of showing appreciation for his emergence as National Secretary of PDP.
Comrade Agham disclosed that all necessary machinery have been put in place to ensure the victory of the party in future elections, and called on members to remain steadfast in their efforts to take the party to an enviable height.
He said that some aggrieved members who left PDP due to unresolved issues had started showing signs of coming back, assuring that his leadership will not leave any stone unturned towards ensuring that they return to the party.
