Asks Governor To Account For N3B Ahiazu LG Fund
The 3R government of Senator Hope Uzodinma has again come under attack, this time by Imo Democratic Vigilante, (IDV), a Pro Democracy and Anti Corruption group.
The group in a terse press statement by its National Coordinator, Hon. Obinna Onu on Tuesday in Owerri, raised alarm against Governor Hope Uzodimma and his APC led government over what it described as, “Uzodinma’s unrepentant stealing and coveting almost all the laudable projects initiated and executed during the Rebuild Imo administration of former Governor Emeka Ihedioha”.

Hon. Obinna Onu cautioned Governor Uzodinma to desist from such provocative actions capable of heating up the polity.
The group urged Senator Uzodinma to jettison his current plan to claim credit for the Ultra modern Primary Health Centre at Oru Ahiara in Oru/Lude ward, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA and other projects in Ahiazu Mbaise and across the state.
“We have received intelligence report that Senator Uzodinma has directed the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ahiazu, Mr. Larry Chikwe to decorate the Ultra modern Primary Health Centre at Oru Ahiara in Oru/Lude ward, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA for commissioning as his project this Christmas.
“We wish to alert the people of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA and Imo people in general to this assault on our sensibilities. For the records, the Primary Health Care Centre at Oru Ahiara was awarded, built and completed by Sir. Sam Ahiarakwe, Chairman, Ahiazu Mbaise Interim Management Committee and his team under the Rebuild imo administration of His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha CON.
“It is on record, including the media that Sir. Ahiarakwe, while implementing the vision and manifesto of the Rebuild Imo and in line with the autonomy of local government administration, institutionalized by Governor Ihedioha, flagged off three Primary Health Care Centres health situated at Umuihuocha in Obohia/Ekwerazu Town Ward; and another in Umumbiri in Oparanadim Ward and Oru Ahiara in Oru/Lude Ward in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA.
“While Sir. Ahiarakwe fully completed the Ultra modern Administrative Secretariat which was commissioned by Governor Ihedioha on the 27th of December, 2019, Oru Ahiara Health Centre was scheduled for commissioning on February 2020 before the Supreme Court judgement removed Governor Ihedioha from office. The other two Health Centres were at various levels of completion and would have been commissioned by August 2020.
However, we have noticed recently that a perimeter fence has been raised at the Health Centre in preparation for its commissioning by Sen. Uzodinma.
“Ordinarily, if due and deserving credit was given to the man that constructed the project we would have not bothered. What is worrisome is the fact that this present government is acting in a manner that is aimed at deceiving the people and we will not allow it.
“The question that comes to mind is, “what has Uzodinma and his APC government done with the local government funds that have accrued to Ahiazu Mbaise LGA? This question became pertinent as records show that Uzodinma has received over N3billion on behalf of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA and there is absolutely nothing to show for it”, the group lamented.
The group challenged Senator Uzodinma and Mr.Larry Chikwe to immediately publish projects conceived and implemented since they assumed office. And failure to heed this calls, they will not hesitate to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over acts of fraud, diversion, embezzlement and misappropriation.
