· Accuse them of aiding mismanagement of public funds
A civil society and accountability group, Imo Good Governance Team (IGGT) has called for the immediate dissolution of the Interim Management committee Chairmen of the 27 local government areas of the state.
The group accused the Chairmen of colluding with and aiding the Governor to mismanage public funds with impunity at the expense of the people whose welfare and interests the funds are meant for.
The Project coordinator of the group,Comrade Fred Nwachukwu stated this while addressing newsmen in Owerri.
According to him, “the Interim Management Committees aside being illegal have stayed beyond 6 months in office hence the need to send them packing and constitute new ones if there is need for that.
Responding to a question Comrade Nwachukwu said, “the Hope Uzodinma administration has not kept any of it’s words. We are therefore not sure that the February deadline for the conduct of local government elections is not a fluke after all.
