“The Race For The Governorship Of Imo State, Come 2027 Is Not A Matter Of Isosceles Triangle, A Scalene Triangle Is Also Involved. Consequently, There Must Be Serious Wider Political Consultations And Agreement Among The Three Sides Of THE Scalene Triangle”.
As the battle for Imo governorship seat gets hotter, the Chairman, founder and facilitator of the Triple “O” (Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe) Initiative, the Rt. Hon. (Asiwaju) Jerry Alagbaoso, (Omenkeafurunanya of Orlu zone) has challenged the Owerri and Okigwe zones to facilitate the actualization of Anim/Orlu State” so as to enable Orlu give way for the governorship position.
When he was asked the question; “You must have been aware of the request by Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, one of the Nigeria’s business heavyweights in Lagos who asked the Governor Hope Uzodimma to leave the governorship seat for Owerri wherein an Okigwe business mogul, Chief Tony Chukwu countered it by saying Owerri people should transfer Imo capital to Okigwe.
Responding, Alagbaoso who was cornered by Journalists, at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, at the Weekend, said, “I know Chief Leo Stan Ekeh as a Hightech guru, and Tony Chukwu as a successful businessman too, and I hope they were not quoted out of context. If I was there in Lagos, I would have explained to them that the race for the governorship of Imo State, come 2027, is not a matter of isosceles triangle, a scalene triangle is also involved.
Consequently, there must be serious wider political consultations and agreement among the three sides of the scalene triangle.
For orlu as a major part of the scalene triangle to give way to other two sides, it means that my influential friend, and in-law, Hightech Chief Leo Stan (Iyi) and Chief Tony Chukwu must work hard in facilitating the realization and actualization of the Anim State before 2027.
Anim State, which the Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma and some of us championed between 2011- 2019 before Sen. Ositae Izunaso took over.
He suggested that both leaders and their associates should facilitate the
Anim/Orlu State which he said, Governor Uzodimma championed during his time in the Senate, and was signed by them during their period in the National assembly.
Rt. Hon. Alagbaoso, who represented Orlu, Orsu, Oru East Federal constituency, further said, “We have been studying and watching the situation, and most of us who had represented the people in the areas of Education, Civil service, Politics and business, are knowledgeable enough to appreciate the political equation of Imo State.
“Considering the views of Chiefs Leo Stan Ekeh and Tony Chukwu, I want to strongly urge Owerri and Okigwe zones to work harder to make Orlu zone have its own State”, Asiwaju said.
When asked about Dr. Mathew Amadi from Ngor- Okpala LGA who is making waves in Owerri zone recently, Rt. Hon. Alagbaoso who is known for his philosophical sayings noted that he only knows him on Facebook, and that at the appropriate time, he would explain.
