-Receives Muslim Faithful At Council Headquarters
Orlu Local Government Chairman, Pastor Chris Mbarie has advocated for peaceful coexistence and healthy interpersonal relationship amongst people living in Orlu irrespective of religious affiliations.
He stated this when the Executive Committee of Orlu Central Mosque, led by Chief Nasser Obioha Akubuo, paid him a courtesy visit in commemoration of the Eld-El-Fitr celebration.
Chief Akubuo congratulated the Executive Chairman on his emergence as the leader of Orlu LGA and appreciated his efforts towards restoring peace to the area. He confessed that Orlu Local Government Headquarters has witnessed a great infrastructural facelift since his emergence as the executive chairman and expressed hope in his capacity to bring about a total turnaround at the grassroot level.
The mosque leadership requested for government assistance in rebuilding their mosque in Orlu which was recently razed down and also sought for the Muslims to be carried along in government initiatives and decisions affecting the community.
Responding, Mbarie appreciated their visit and emphasized on the importance of peaceful coexistence and health relationship amongst members of the society irrespective of religious affiliations.
The Chairman promised to visit the mosque and engage with the Muslim community so as to ascertain some of their challenges and find a pathway towards sustainable solutions to them.
