My attention has been drawn to various congratulatory publications in print media regarding the 60th birthday celebrations of the Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. I have received numerous calls from concerned Imo citizens alerting me that the birthday publications which were purported to have been authored by the 2023 House of Assembly Candidates of the PDP included my name as one of the signatories. I wish to categorically dissociate myself from them. I neither contributed to nor authorized any part of these publications.

I flew the flag of the PDP for House of Assembly in 2015, 2019 and 2023 serially for Isu State Constituency and such publications weren’t done for the former Candidates of 2015 and 2019. Its also of striking interest that all 27 former candidates of the PDP in 2023 were mentioned without recourse to the fact that more than 18 of those former PDP candidates had left the party to pursue various political interests. Therefore, I am deeply concerned and fizzled on why overzealous individuals would put out such adverts without individual consent of former Candidates of the now staggering PDP, especially when the said group breathed its last immediately after the 2023 elections. Is it not scandalous that in all of the hatchet publications, not even a signature of any of the former Candidates being impersonated could be found?

For the avoidance of doubt, I formally resigned from the PDP on March 24, 2024, severing all ties with the party. I have since moved on and established myself within the All Progressives Congress (APC), where I am actively contributing to governance and development. Integrity has always been the foundation of my political journey, and I remain committed to upholding principled leadership.

I, therefore, demand that my name be immediately removed from these publications. Additionally, I expect a formal apology from the organizers of these advertorials, to be published through the same media outlets, within one week of this notice.

Signed:

Hon. Osakwe Modestus,

Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs,

Imo State.
