The Orlu Youth Consultative Assembly( OYCA), has come out in full support of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s recent caution to political stakeholders of Owerri zone extraction, to stop heating up Imo state polity ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In an encounter with newsmen in Owerri, the National Convener, Prince Izunna Obiefule, Jp, recalled that about two weeks ago, the state Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma at a crucial meeting with major political stakeholders of Owerri zone, appealed and cautioned them to refrain from activities and utterances capable of heating up Imo political climate as according to the governor, it is still too early for any one or group to begin to make noise about succession to the governorship stool in the year, 2027.
The political pressure group made up of youths from across all villages, communities and political wards of the twelve (12) local government areas of Orlu senatorial district, further, recalled that a senior apex umbrella body of Orlu zone indigenes under the aegis of Orlu Zone Political Consultative Assembly (OPOCA), via a well-worded press statement, had cautioned those they described as recalcitrant Owerri Zone political jobbers to stop heating up the system, molesting and insulting a highly focused, visionary, wise, result-oriented and non clannish illustrious son of Orlu zone presently occupying Imo state government house in the person of Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma, CON, (Onwa Oyoko).
Aligning itself with Governor Uzodimma’s appeal that all political activities in the state should be channelled to the path of caution and sanity, and OPOCA’s caution against reckless conduct, the body of Orlu youths reminded Owerri Zone political stakeholders that Imo state is not a Banana Republic where anything goes.
The Orlu Youth Consultative Assembly (OYCA) further cautioned, that the four-year period of Senator Hope Uzodimma’s second term in office is still running with three solid years to round it up, adding that all those making noise in the name of mobilising for action in 2027 are visible enemies of Imo state with plans geared towards diverting the attention of the Performing incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma.
