Uwadi, a journalist, author and public opinion analyst, who, last week disclosed his pathetic critical health challenges in a post on his social media platform solicited the assistance of well-meaning Nigerians to enable him to scale through his ordeal.
Ken Uwadi in the post he made said, “I am Comrade Ken Uwadi. I am a writer, newspaper columnist and author of novels. My novels include, The Mile 3 Murder Mystery and the Return of Aisha’s First Love. I have also written several published articles in national and local newspapers. I am currently having heart disease and diabetes and I have not been able to raise the amount needed for surgery. I’m struggling hard to raise money for my medical treatment.
“I am in pain, as one side of my eye is getting affected. I’m appealing for financial assistance to enable me go for medical treatment. Please help me in way you can. Do not look at my sins. I’m only human.
“It takes the grace of God to survive heart disease but I will keep praying and asking God for mercy. No amount is too small. Save a soul. You can share this post, maybe help can come my way.
“If the Lord touches your heart to help me, my account number is below. 2009281770, Zenith Bank, Kenneth Uwadi”.
Uwadi’s appeal for financial assistance has elicited several reactions which include one from Prince Destiny Ugochukwu, who said, “where is Goodluck Nana Opiah, I have it on record that you are his boy and worked for him politically. I really don’t understand the offence you committed to warrant this kind of abandonment”.
Uche Nwosu Solution, in his reaction to Uwadi’s appeal, said, “very painful and pathetic condition. How I wish APC and Bola Tinubu that you fought for and even made enemies for will remember your sacrifice and come to your aid. May God help you?”
Others who made similar comments called on Governor Hope Uzodinma to as a matter of urgency come to the aid of Kenneth Uwadi who they said, did so much for the APC and its candidates who he supported and fought for whole heartedly.
A source close to Uwadi, who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity said, “Uwadi told me in absolute confidence that he had made concerted effort to reach out to some of his political but not much has been down and he is going down by the day.
He appealed to Hon Eugene Dibiagwu, Hon Goodluck Nana Opiah, Governor Hope Uzodinma and others to come to Kenneth Uwadi’s aid pointing out that he is at the verge of losing his life and leaving his children to face a bleak future without him.
