The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council has expressed sadness over the demise of three of their members who until their death were members of the Independent Newspaper Publishers Association (INPA).
The union in a statement signed by Comrade Precious Nwadike and Mr Ori Martin, as Chairman and Secretary respectively, said the demise of Sam Nwoko of Authority Newspaper, Mrs Chioma Chimezie, the Publisher of Onion Newspaper and late wife of the Publisher of Nigerian Horn Newspaper, Chief Bright Chimezie and Emma Odibo of Eastern mandate Newspaper came to the union as very big shock.
They condoled the bereaved families and urged them to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived worthy and commendable lives, in addition to contributing meaningfully to the growth of the union, the journalism profession and the society at large.
“We pray that the Almighty God grants their families, relatives, friends and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses and also grant the souls of our departed members peaceful repose”.
